tonsillectomy (adult)

Diane

Message 3 of 8 Previous Next

Hi! My name is Diane, I am 44 years old. Last August I had my tonsils removed. Before surgery I think I went for lab work, and they stopped some of my medicines. Went in the morning of the surgery (out-paitent)you can't eat or drink anything the night before. Surgery went well. I felt pretty good, better than fighting with strep throat, tonsilitis, dehydration,) I was in an out of the doctor's office for three months. Before they decided to take them out I was scared because of the age thing, but it really wasn't bad at all. I will say that cold food felt more soothing that warm broth or gravy. I got so sick of popsicles, ice cream, pudding, milk shakes, but they're coming back now since it is pretty warm outside. I hope the surgery goes well. If there is any questions I might be able to answer feel free to e-mail me. Diane
