Yes there have been 4 known cases of Ebola in the USA. The Ebola strain in this instance was Airborne (meaning it could travel through the air and infect people) However the strain of Ebola only affected monkeys, and did not affect the human population. The Strain was named "Ebola Reston" after the first case. The outbreaks occured in monkeys at the following places: 1989: Quarantine facilities in Virginia, Texas, and Pennsylvania 1990:Quarantine facilities in Virginia, and Texas 1992: Quarantine facilities in Sienna 1996: Quarantine facility in Texas In all cases, the monkeys were imported from the Philippines. And in 1996 there was another outbreak of Ebola Reston in the Philippines at a Monkey Export Facility.
