I can tell you my experience and that is I have had genital herpes for 12 yrs, & I met a wonderful man online. When I eventually met him in person, I had to tell him. It was the hardest thing I have ever done because we felt we were so much in love even before our first meeting. It was during the holidays & I was torn between not telling so I wouldn't ruin his Christmas, or by telling him; I chose the latter & I am happy to tell you that I made the right decision. He told me he loved me & it did not matter. I am on Valtrex twice a day, although in the past I had few outbreaks, maybe only 1 or 2 in the course of a year. We use condoms, although we are getting married soon & he wants to discontinue using them. I feel this is his decision & all I can do is be in tune with my body & stay away from him if I feel an outbreak coming on. So there is love after herpes, just keep looking. There are men out there who have an understanding heart & will love you no matter what. You should go to a herpes support group in your area for help. Some have organized social events where you can meet & talk to others. Check out the herpes websites like Antopia, etc. There is a myriad of help out there. Good luck, hope this helps you.
