well, i did have the surgery. i am recovering well i think. i did find out that the doctor uses the fashia tissur surrounding the bladder to pull the bladder up and the sews this tissue to the periostium that surrounds the pubic bone. there are now foreign bits of material introduced to your body, just the tissue that is already there. hope that helps you some.
