For 20yrs. I worked as a Occ. Health Nurse and watched the very brilliant Dr. I worked for become totally disabled and dependant on those around him. As the name implies it is a progessive disease and it is heartbreaking to see these wonderful poeple come to their death in such a manner. He was unable to walk,talk, feed himself and all of his personal health care had to be dealt with by his wife and home care givers. His mind was still sharp and we communicated with the help of a 'alphabet chart and the computer. This man died 2 yrs. ago, he was a great doctor and brilliant researcher and a good friend. He will be missed.
