I've had Keratosis Pilaris for most of my life. I am now 38 and it has recently worsened - surfacing on my forearms, stomach and legs. The only thing I have found that works is Retin A. I used it on the back of my arms and face. It actually made my skin softer and smoother - the bumps went away. The challenge is that you have to keep using it consistently or else it will come back. You also have to stay out of the sun - a drawback for some people. I recently went back to my dermatologist to see if he could prescribe something new that could work for all areas. I am now trying the Lac-Hydrin lotion with Alpha Hydroxy. He also gave me Protopic, a tacrolimus ointment to use on my face. I believe you can only use it on small areas. I hope this helps. I know that having this skin condition can be very depressing. I hate having to hide my skin - especially during the Summer. I'll post my progress with the new prescription in a few weeks. Let me know if you have any more questions about KP. I'd be happy to share what I've learned. You should definitely see your dermatologist about Retin A. T
