I'm a 43 year old woman. Three years ago I had A heart palpitation that was very mild. Some time after that, my husband had a heart attack and I began having panic attacks. I was given Buspar. The panic attacks stopped but the palp. continued very sporadically for the next 21/2 years. Finally I was tired of them and returned to the doctor and was given Atenlol. As soon as I started taking it I began having panic attacks again. I returned to the doctor and was given Zanax. I am now going through a series of tests to try to find out what the heart palp. is all about. I still feel panicky sometimes and of course I'm still having a palp. about every other day, sometimes more. I don't have a rapid beat, just one very strong beat that takes my breath away. Anyone else have anything like this?
