I am not a doctor, but I have had similiar problems, which I have had to figure out for myself. I have gone to numerous doctors, but no one knew what to do. I believe that the symptoms of the antibodies linger for quite some time, even after they may be reading normal. Either we don't have the proper tests or there is another affect that is in conjunction with the hypothyroidism. I believe this effect has to do with "adrenal insuffiency". Look into this. There is a national association for it. My theory is that the anitbodies also attack the adrenals or that the adrenals worked too hard to compensate for the lack of thyroid and are now damaged. No coffee, caffeine, alcohol, refined foods, white sugar and flour. Supplement with buffered Vit C 500 several x day or every hour until better, Pantothenic Acid--200-400 mg., Calcium, Magnesium, Zinc, Essential Fatty Acids (Omega 3, 6 and 9) and Free Bound Complete Amino Acids. Most important: Octacosanol (derived from wheat germ) is safe for larger doses. Athletes use this for strength, endurance and healing of sports injuries. It heals nerve tissue and brain tissue which the cortex of the adrenal glands are almost identical too. (Best source I've found is Enduraplex at iHerb.com--least exspensive per mcg. Take two a day) Then Germanium, a mineral, that will help her recover enough to get out of bed. Sam-e is essential to relieve chronic depression and liver problems that go along with this. And last but not least, eat lots of sea vegies, take Kelp and 800 IU. of Vitamin E everyday and take 30 minute walks in the fresh air everyday if possible! I am almost normal now. Hope this helps.
