My 28 years of gout tells me that the low purine diet helped me very little, if any, in preventing gout attacks. My case was so bad that even the heavy doses of daily Benemid and Indocin my rheumatology gave me to prevent gout attacks didn't help that much either. Then I found a simple cure myself.
