This is a virus (HPV), passed from person to person, cleanliness has nothing to do with it. You can have them removed, but the virus will remain in your body, and can produce more warts. Make sure you keep up with your paps, your doctor should monitor this as it can cause cellular changes of the cervix and lead to cancer if not changes are not detected early. It is very rare that this is passed on during vaginal delivery.
