I have had Gerd for at least 8 years.I am 56years old. I had an endocynch two years ago. It was a new proceedure at that time. I was one in 15 that it didn't work. It has helped many though. Your surgery sounds like the old proceedure that is much more riskie. Do more reserch. The endocynch has no bad side affects that I know of long term. But it is still fairly new. They put 2-3 stiches in your essophogeal muscle. Your surgery sounds like a stomach wrap. I refused that. But it is your call. Good luck.. Check Dpt of gastro. at Rush Pres St Lukes in Chicago. Other hospitals also offer it. Take care.
