fibromyalgia/arthritis

I've had Fibromyalgia since '85 and now at 67, arthritis has been added to the picture. Fibro is frustrating. Just when you think you have one location quieted down, another one or more pops up with little discernible reason. Add aging, wear and tear, accidents, surgical trauma, arthritis and stress and the situation is intensified. Suggest you re-research Fibrolmyalgia again...much more info out now than years ago...and become familiar with the face of the syndrome and its facets. Make sure a complete physical exam rules out organic reasons for pain. Then when you are in distress, you can tell yourself "this is unpleasant (you bet!) but not life threatening". Accumulate and use non-prescriptive therapies before seeking and using prescriptive medicines which can cause additional side effects. Gaining control mentally and physically will go a long way to helping you get through your day. You may never be pain-free, but you will know your enemy and then you can wage an effective battle to regain control. Please fee free to e-mail me if you wish.
