herniated cervical disks

Hello again! I am so sorry to hear of your continuing pain, Philip. It is now January 9, 2004, and I am still dealing with the same issues I spoke of last post. The one exception is that my right hand has regained feeling. No more numbness and tingling there. But the left side of me is the same. My dr. has since ordered an MRI to be run on my lumbar spine to determine if my problems are still radiating from the cervical spine or if there is another problem further down. My insurance is changing and currently I am without proof of any insurance so the MRI has to wait. I still wasn't released by the dr. I will go back again Feb. 17. I am awaiting my hearing date for my appeal to Social Security Disability. I was terminated by my employer when I couldn't return to my job 90 days post surgery. The dr. still tells me it could take up to a year post surgery to notice a return to normal provided there isn't something else going on in another area of my spine. I have good days and bad days and then some really bad days and nights. Sometimes it's as if my left leg is not there at all. Standing is even difficult. I also have noticed sometimes I have pain in my neck just below the surgery area. I thought maybe this could be due to the strain now placed there because of the fusion and hardware above not allowing any movement. I will ask the dr. when I see him next. I certainly wish you all the best, Philip, and pray that you get some relief soon.
