I was reading about a diabetic patient in the UK curing his diabetes by having a transplant, banishing the need for regular insulin jabs.
Apparently they did an islet cell transplant where insulin-producing cells are taken from a donor and injected into the recipient’s liver.
The whole thing takes about 45 minutes apparently.
I wonder if anyone knows more about this Diabetes cure?
