My son had an Arnold Chiari malformation surgically corrected when he was approximately 2 1/2. The compression of the brain stem was causing him to stop breathing, primarily at night causing a type of sleep apnea. The surgery was intense and long, but was very successful. We live in Kalamazoo and had the surgery done there, but also go to Ann Arbor often to consult with physicians, etc. Feel free to e-mail me privately if you would like to discuss this or other medical concerns.
