My daughter is going to be seven in April, but when she was two years old, she had the decompression surgery for Chiari type 1. She came through it with flying colors. The doctors said that we would probably have to go through some extensive rehab and therapy, but we didn't. We spent 9 days in the hospital. A year later, we had to go back and have the bottom tonsils taken off of the brain and have a shunt placed in her spine. She did remarkable with that also. We had that surgery done on Friday morning and we came home on Tuesday morning. She now has migraine headache, but to look at her, you wouldn't guess that she has had any problems whatsoever. She is our little miracle and we thank God everyday that he is in control and that he gave us the strenght to endure all of this and that he continues to give us the strenght to deal with whatever may come our way.
