My left ear has been bothering lately. My doctor says there are no signs of infection and that the eardrum vibrates perfectly in response to blowing. He said that he thinks that my eustation tube might be inflamed. Occassionally, I felt a little dizzy and like I want to clear my ear (as you do when you want to water out after swimming or a shower). He initially prescribed me Flonase and Claritin to clear any congestion. I don't feel any congetion though... He then prescribed a Steriod to decrease inflammation. However, after reading all of the pharmacist info on side effects, special care, etc. associated with taking steriods - I flat out refused and my doctor is sending me to a Ear, Nose & Throat doctor (appt is next week). Wanted to know if steriods are common? And what tests are using given to look closer? Thanks so much in advance, Vanessa Anderson
