I had a hyda scan last week. It takes about a little over a hour to have done. It is not uncomfortable, but you do have to be on your back for over an hour. You will have a dye injected into you so they can get pictures of your liver and gallbladder (I watched this). Then they inject something in the IV to make your gallbladder contract so they can see how it works. That is how the doctors found out that my gallbladder was only functioning at four percent. None of the other tests showed anything. I have surgery to remove my gallbladder next week. Good luck.
