A week ago my big toe and area across the front of my foot and under the front of my foot swelled up and I had very bad pain. I looked up gout on the computer and started taking ibuprofen and drinking 5 glasses of water a day. The pain was so bad it woke me up several times a night. I went to my doctor and got an anti-inflamatory drug to take and got a blood test taken. The blood test showed my uric acid level was normal. The swelling has gone down but I still have some pain in my left toe and under the ball of my foot just past my big toe. I don't know if it really was gout or something else. What do you think? my big toe
