How wonderful your gentleman friend told you about his HPV...says alot about how he feels about you. I, too, have been tested for all STD's....this one is tricky. I had been having cervical pap smears that resulted in minor surgery due to dysplasia. To my surprise, I was told I had HPV. I could have contracted this virus when I was in my 20's. There's no way to know. And the manner in which it manifests itself in women is genital warts(which I never had) or the cervix (a leading cause of cervical cancer in women who do not get checked regularly). My doctor said it was probably the most common STD and so many people do not have any sypmtoms and unless they do, they do not know they have the virus. Your friend obviously had symptoms (growths, warts) and that is how he eventually knew he had contracted the virus. It is scary. Talk with your doctor about it. Check the web; there's information available. Let me know if I can help further.
