I have a 18 year old daughter with microcephaly. She was diagnosed with this condition after a head injury at 11 months old. She also has seizure disorder. She learned to walk at 2 years of age and continues to surprise me with her ability to learn new things. She talks baby jibberish, e.i. baby, momma, dadda, babba, but she says new words every once inawhile that shock me. Although they are said once or twice, I get teary eyed everytime. She recently learned to turn the lights off after herself, which saves the hassel of getting up ten to twenty times an hour, lol. She understands allot more then I give her credit for, and her 17 year old sister says if I didn't baby her so much and do so much for her without giving her the chance to do for herself, she would be more independant.
