About 15 years ago, I had dysplasia due to HPV. I had the cryo treatments and a round of Efudex (a cream used like Monistat) over a 2-year period. Since using the Efudex, my paps have been normal, no chronic infections or pain...and I now have 2 children! I know that it's a scary process, but keep in mind that abnormal cells don't necessarily mean cancer. The good news is, you've identified the problem early and it can be easily treated. My best advice: don't delay treatment, if you don't understand something, ask questions and be faithful with your follow-up visits (the new Thin Prep test is more accurate than a regular pap).
