As far as I know this is to help dry up any fluids such as water that gets in the ear, such as from swimmer's ear. It doesn't sound right to me. Since it hurts inside she probably has a slight inner ear infection too. My daughter had an outer ear infection and was prescribed external antibiotic drops. Maybe you should get a second opinion?
