I have had kidney stones for about 12 years now, in both kidneys. The first surgery was a procedure where the urologist goes in and tries to get them out with a basket shaped object. That didn't work for me, both kidneys had about a dozen stones. I then went for Lithotripsy ( laser in a tub of water surgery) and that crushed the stones up to fine sand. The very first 12 hours were painful because you pass all that was broken up, after that, the pain subsides and you feel ok. I was off work for about 4 weeks after that. Any questions, please feel free to email me.
