My husband had suffered with this disease for more than a year and had several severe attacks with no warning.They tried several medications which were no help at all, and he had to have surgery for his case. It was a serious surgery but he has had no attacks since surgery which is nearly five yrs ago. The best person to deal with this is an ENT, which is the one who did the surgery. He has some permaneant hearing loss in his right ear but it was a very rough year when these attacks occured. You can get this in both ears so he only had it in his right ear. We are most grateful for the surgery which gave him the normalacy back to his life. He would be flat on his back and totally incapacitated when these attacks happened. He had severe vomitting, dizziness and unable to move his head from side to side. It is a very hard condition to deal with and at the time he had very little information available to him.
