Consulting a neurologist would be best. Having said that, there is a phenomenon which can occur during particular stages in the sleep cycle (usually just as you're going to sleep or waking up). What happens is the BODY is still "asleep" although the MIND is "awake". It gives you a feeling as if you may be paralyzed or weighed down by lead weights. Waking up in such a manner can,understandably, set off an anxiety attack. I'm sorry that I don't recall the name of this phenomenon. Good luck.
