Do you think it could be panic attacks? I have known people to have them with some of those same symptoms like the nausea, diarrhea, and overwhelming fear or dying, etc. If it is this and you don't want to see a doctor,you can try relaxation methods like: deep breathing exercises before and after you go to sleep, listening to a relaxation tape before,after or during sleep, keep a journal, and talk to a good friend. It sounds simple but maybe if done on a consistent basis it would help.Certain kinds of repeated stress could bring these attacks on.
