Hi Martha, It usually does take that long to get into a neurologist, maybe try an Orthopedic Dr. They can do they same. You need something much stronger than Darvocet. I know how you feel. I have S-1, L-3, L-4 & L-5. Tried many injections along with a small surgery for S-1. No relief. Demand a stronger pain med. & maybe a muscle relaxant. You pay the Dr., so therefor make your demands. Maybe you should call aroun to see if you can get in to see another Dr. sooner. Unless, of course you have a HMO ins. There is a procedure called an I-Dot (slang) that seems to be sucessful for many but BCBS does not pay for it anymore because they consider it experimental just recently even though pt.'s have very good results. Most commercial ins's will pay for it. Ask your Dr. I wish you good luck... Dar
