Hi, I also have S1 which is your sacrailiac joint. I also have a herniated L-3, L-4, & L-5. I go to a pain management Dr. I have tried injections & a surgical procedure called Radio Frequency to the S-1 joint wher they try to numb about 13 nerve areas with no relief. There is a procedure called I Dot (slang) but BCBS considers it experimental & won't pay enough for it anymore for the hospital the let my Dr. perform it. The only other choice is a Laminectomy or Disectomy. I will not do that so the only other recourse is pain meds. for now. My quality of life as far as walking, standing, sitting & even sleeping is poor. The only relief I get is for about 2 hrs. after a pain pill. Most Dr.'s don't want to give them but a pain management Dr. will. Good luck!!
