My son is 18 yrs. old and was born with Poland's syndrome. He had an absence of the right pectoral muscle. It did not affect him at all physically but began affecting him psychologically when he got into his teens. He recently had plastic surgery and is doing much better psychologically. If you would like to know what we went through, developmentally, let me know. I still wonder what caused it and have read as much as I could on the subject, which didn't help. Also, many of the doctors we saw as he was growing up didn't know anything about it, much less its name. We did find a plastic surgeon that knew about it.
