There are other options. Rigid contact lenses work well for keratoconus in most cases and offer a lonmg term, non-surgical management option. There are klots of different types of lenses available, rigid corneal sized lenses are most frequently used for keratoconus. Sclerals are large diameter lenses which bear on the white of the eye, the sclera, hence the name. They are useful when small rigid corneals do not work, or cause problems. Good luck.
