I know exactly how you feel. I have arthritis with fibro and am in pain all the time. I also have obsessive disorder which is often hard for me to deal with along with the pain. I am a christian lady 47 who has had this for about 20 years (arthritis) and firbro for about 5 years. I do not think people realize how hard it is on a person mentally trying to fight something that for right now there is not a cure for, but hopefully one day there will be and until then it sure improves your prayer life:) and helps to have a good family to love you and understands you.
