Polymyalgia and Prednisone

I haven't posted in a long time but do come back and read the threads. I am so sorry to hear Shar and Ida that you are still suffering with the pain of PMR. I don't think I am completely thru with it yet but have been tapering and am now down to 2mg prednisone. May 1st I will drop 1/2 mg and hopefully in another couple of months will be off of it permanently. It's hard to say if the aches and pains have anything to do with PMR. Last May I had a quadruple heart bypass, then end of July surgery for an aortic abdominal aneurysm which was aborted after two hours, then another aneurysm surgery in October which was successful. Recovery is now complete and am doing the cardiac rehab bit three times a week. I know because of the prednisone, healing was very slow and I bruise easily. One benefit is that with surgery I dropped the 26lbs put on by the prednisone. The surgeons weren't happy that I was on it but the rheumatologist was adament that I was kept on it. It just seems if it isn't one thing, it is another! Anyway, didn't mean to write a book but want to say to you I hope your light at the end of the tunnel comes soon and you are returned to vibrant health. Kay
